Peer Cache seeding or deploying content ahead of the Task Sequence

So this is a add-on to my blog post about Peer cache deployment of Task Sequence that covers the idea of deploying the content out to the Peer Cache devices or others devices ahead of the deployment of the Task Sequence.

1). First thing we need to do is create a new custom task sequence that wll deploy the required files to the device.

2). On the Create a new task sequence screen select the create a new custom task seqeucne and click next .

3). On the Specify task sequence information screen, give the task sequence a name ie.. Peer Cache Seed and tick Run as high performance power plan click next .

4). On the Confirm the Settings screen, check that all is correct and click next .

5). The task seqeunce will now build and you will end up at the The task "Create Task Sequence Wizard" completed successfully click Close .

6). This will take you back to the main deployment screen, Right click on your newly created task seqeunce and select edit.

7). In the task sequence click Add then go to Software and select Download Package Content

8). This will add the Download Package Content to the task sequence click the Star to add packages to download.

9). Add the packages you want send to the Peer Cache device and click Ok

You will have to repeat step 8 for each package you want to download

10). When you have selected all your packages to send to the peer cache server click Ok

Make sure to use the Configuration Manager client cache as the location.

4). Deploy the Seed Task Seqeunce to the Peer Cache devices and if requied once deployed to the Peer Cache devices you can deploy to the other devices that required the task sequence content.
